On Thursday, June 25, neighbors, families, local businesses, and future residents gathered at The Granary for an evening that perfectly captured what community is all about.
Our first annual Summer Block Party brought together people of all ages for great food, family activities, and an opportunity to support the Milton Fire Department. Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who attended, The Granary raised $6,315 to help fund the department’s new ladder truck.
The event was created with a simple goal: to bring people together while giving back to the town that has welcomed The Granary with open arms.
Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed a seafood boil and barbecue from Delmarva Boil Company, refreshing lemonade from Lynn Sisters Lemonade, local craft beer from Dogfish Head Brewery, fire pits with s’mores, a bounce house with a water slide, and tours of the DRB Homes and D.R. Horton model homes. Children had the opportunity to climb aboard a Milton Fire Department truck, meet local firefighters, and learn more about the people who serve the community every day.
One of the highlights of the evening was seeing neighbors connect. It was a reminder that meaningful communities aren’t built by homes alone—they’re built by the moments, traditions, and relationships that bring neighbors together.
“We’ve always believed The Granary should be more than a neighborhood,” said Mariah Underhill, Vice President of Development. “It should be a place that supports Milton, celebrates its people, and creates opportunities for neighbors to come together. Seeing the community rally around the fire department made this event incredibly special.”
The Milton Fire Department plays a vital role in protecting the town and surrounding communities, and we are honored to support their efforts as they work toward purchasing a new ladder truck that will serve Milton for years to come.
Events like the Summer Block Party reflect the philosophy behind The Granary. Our vision has always centered on creating spaces that encourage connection—whether that’s gathering around a fire pit, meeting neighbors at a community event, or supporting the organizations that make Milton such a special place to live. We hope this becomes a tradition for years to come, with each summer’s celebration benefiting a different local organization that helps our community thrive.
After such an incredible turnout, we’re already looking forward to next summer. We can’t wait to continue bringing neighbors together while supporting the local organizations that make Milton such a special place to call home.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who attended, purchased tickets, donated, volunteered, and helped make the evening possible. We are also grateful to the Milton Fire Department for joining us and to our event partners, including Delmarva Boil Company, Lynn Sisters Lemonade, Dogfish Head Brewery, DRB Homes, and D.R. Horton. We can’t wait to continue this tradition and see you again next summer!
