On Saturday, March 14, something special began to unfold right here in Milton. The Granary welcomed community members and prospective homebuyers to a Grand Opening celebration. The event marked The Granary’s first lived chapter. It was the moment when plans, drawings, and intentions finally became a place people could walk through, feel, and experience.
Over the next 15 years, The Granary will complete its vision as a 451-acre master-planned community. Designed as an extension of Milton, the community is guided by Convergence Communities’ philosophy of “creating conscious communities” – that get residents outside, encourage you to get out of your own mind, and build that support system amongst fellow residents
A Shared Intention
Convergence Founder and CEO Colby Cox was joined by key members of The Granary team to start the day with a collective intention-setting ceremony. The intimate moment was a symbol of gratitude and hope for the community’s future. The intentions honored The Granary’s purpose-driven desire to create a built environment that supports being present and fosters three essential harmonies: connection with self, with nature, and with one another.
Feeling the Rhythm in Real Time
The event transitioned into a day of movement, discovery, and meaningful conversation. Guests explored three model homes by DRB Homes and D.R. Horton through guided and self-guided tours. Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed food, drinks, and live music by indie rocker Maddox Gipko. The mix of recreation and wellness programming included puppy yoga, e-bike demos, scavenger-hunt-style community exploration, and a raffle drawing.
Movement between the on-site activations felt organic and brought the community spirit to life. The event embodied everything The Granary has been working toward: a neighborhood that seeks to answer the question, “what makes people happy?”
Two days before the public Grand Opening, Convergence hosted a VIP Preview at Dogfish Head Milton Brewery. The event brought together friends, family, local partners and key stakeholders for a pre-opening gathering with food and refreshments, project visuals (including a VR video) and a speech from Colby.
Getting to Know The Granary
Phase One of The Granary spans 73.5 acres and pairs 180 homes and streets with an amenity hub that features a covered pavilion, 800-square-foot pool, and mail box pavilion. Rooted in nature, meadowscaping and recreation areas are woven throughout the built environment. Over time, The Granary anticipates a full buildout that includes 1,350 residences, 60,000 square feet of commercial space, approximately 110 acres of preserved open space, and 55 acres of parks, including the 20-acre Granary Greens central park.
Built for Belonging
With Phase One now open, a new kind of momentum is setting in. Not the rush of “what’s next,” but the slow confidence of a place that’s meant to reveal itself over time. In the months ahead, The Granary will embrace the everyday elements that make a neighborhood real. More front doors opening, more wildflowers growing, and more faces becoming familiar.
